DFnet Research delivers eClinical solutions that streamline clinical trials from data collection to analysis and compliance. Its core platform, DFdiscover, centralizes and validates study data while enabling efficient workflow management for research teams.

Complementing this, DFengage allows participants to submit real-time data through a simple mobile experience, improving accuracy and engagement. Together, these products create a seamless flow of patient data into a robust management system, enhancing efficiency and reliability across clinical studies.

DFnet Research

Designing for DFnet required balancing the needs of two very different user groups. On one side, research teams rely on DFdiscover to manage large volumes of complex clinical data with precision and efficiency. On the other, participants use DFengage to submit personal health data in a way that needs to be simple, intuitive, and accessible.

The challenge is a constant ability to increase usability across a multitude of relating products while maintaining data integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a more cohesive experience across the product ecosystem.

My approach to this job has been with a strong focus on system thinking and user-centered design. This includes reviewing existing workflows, identifying usability pain points, and aligning design decisions across all platforms to ensure consistency where needed and flexibility where appropriate.

Collaboration with stakeholders and developers was key to balancing user needs with technical and regulatory constraints, while iterative design improvements helped refine both complex interfaces and simplified user flows.

DFdiscover is a powerful system used by researchers to collect, validate, and manage clinical trial data.
My work focused on improving clarity and efficiency within complex workflows. This included refining interface layouts, enhancing data readability, and simplifying interactions within key tasks. Given the density of information and the importance of accuracy, design decisions prioritized reducing cognitive load while maintaining full access to critical data.
The result was a more structured and intuitive experience that supported faster task completion and improved confidence when working with sensitive data.

DFengage enables study participants to submit data through surveys, diaries, and symptom tracking.

Here, the focus shifted to simplicity and accessibility. I worked on creating clear, guided user flows that reduced friction and made it easy for non-technical users to complete required tasks. Emphasis was placed on readability, clear feedback, and minimizing the effort required to engage with the app consistently.

I also designed and created the mobile web interface, highly requested by users who face difficulty using mobile apps, and bringing forth an entirely new user base and level of accessibility for this product

These improvements helped support better participant engagement and more reliable data submission.

A key aspect of this work was understanding how both products function as part of a larger ecosystem. Data submitted through DFengage feeds directly into DFdiscover, where it is validated and managed by research teams.

Design decisions needed to account for this relationship—ensuring consistency in data structures and user expectations, while still tailoring each experience to its specific audience.

At DFNet Research, I lead end-to-end UI/UX design across multiple products, taking full ownership of the design lifecycle—from research and concepting through to final delivery.

I design and maintain cohesive design systems to ensure consistency and scalability, while continuously improving the overall user experience of complex ISP and networking platforms.

I work closely with client support teams, translating insights from support emails and client meetings into actionable design improvements that enhance usability and address real user pain points.

My role also includes QA and product testing, collaborating with developers to ensure accurate implementation and refining experiences based on real-world feedback.

In addition, I manage and track design projects through Microsoft Azure, contributing to product strategy by aligning user needs with business goals and helping deliver intuitive, high-performing digital solutions.
